Transformations
The term 'waste not, want not' really means that if you do not waste anything, you'll always have enough. This is really how rag rugs came into being after the introduction of the Industrial Age. Cloth material was expensive to make before that time, and so cloth was used for the intended purpose and when that was no longer feasible was transformed into something else, used and perhaps finally transformed into a rug when it came to the end of it's useful life.
Here, I've transformed a patterned cloth into a rag rug by cutting it up into narrow strips and sandwiching those strips into a woven patterned rug using complimentary colors of cotton yarn.
